This steak pita will make your taste buds sing!!

Last night we had chicken pitas for dinner, and they were good. But, I had one piece of steak left over from a few nights ago. I thought, hmm steak pita for lunch? Yes please!


Here’s what I did. I cut the steak into 1/2″ think slices. In a medium pan I drizzled some olive oil and added the steak. Over medium heat I cooked till it was just pink in the center. I seasoned it with onion powder, and garlic powder while it cooked. Then I removed the meat to a bowl. 

In the same pan, I sautéed red onion, mushrooms, Swiss chard, and garlic. I seasoned this with a little salt and pepper. When that was cooked I added the meat back in and cooked another minute or two. 

In a smaller pan I added a little olive oil and heated up my whole wheat pita, about 30 seconds each side. 

On the pita I placed a thin slice of provolone, and added the meat and veggies. I drizzled on about a teaspoon of Tzatziki sauce, and boom, done! 

This thing is amazing. I kid you not try it out, and see for yourself! 
Recipe:

1 3oz steak cut into strips

3 mushrooms sliced

1/4 cup red onion

3 stalks of Swiss chard ( or spinach)

2 slices provolone cheese

2 whole wheat pitas

1 garlic clove minced

Onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper

Tzatziki sauce 

Serves 2.
