Energy. For years I didn’t have enough of it. I felt older than my age. I was tired ALL THE TIME. Just ask my college buddies. They’ll tell you all about me sleeping in various classes. I didn’t want to fall asleep, but I couldn’t help it. I’ve been known to fall asleep sitting at the computer with my hand on the mouse mid-click.
Yes, it was bad. I wanted to play with my kids. I wanted to go out and do fun things with the family, but I was so so tired. Afternoon naps became the norm rather than occasional. They say “sleep when your baby sleep”, but what about when your “baby” is four years old and no longer takes naps? Am I still justified in sleeping every afternoon just so I can make it through the rest of the day?
I wondered how I was going to fix this problem. Caffeine didn’t seem to be the answer. I was kicking back a coke almost every day, and that wasn’t solving the problem. I tried eating different foods in the afternoon, but somehow I always ended up consuming a ton of carbs. That only made things worse.
After years of searching, and trying different supplements and foods, I’ve finally fixed the problem. It’s so amazingly simple, and I feel so much better about myself.
I exercize every day. I do. I exercize almost every morning, and once in awhile in the afternoon. I do a 20-30 minute workout where I push myself physically. I end drenched in sweat and tired, but I feel great. I used to think working out would just make me more tired. It seems counterintuitive to what I was needing. Expending energy to get energy didn’t make any sense to me at all. But the fact is, it does give me more energy. It just really does.
Now, I fuel my body with food. REAL food. Fresh fruits and veggies, protein, and healthy carbs. I have a daily superfood protein shake that I look forward to like it’s a treat. Oh, I drink about a gallon of water a day too. I’ve cut out sweets, and sugar. I stay away from processed and pre-packaged foods that are heavy in salt, and preservatives, and sugar. I almost never eat out anymore. And that one coke a day addiction? Gone. I don’t drink soda at all.
I do all of this, and don’t take naps anymore. I don’t feel like I need them. I’m not dragging through my day. I feel light and free. I have all the energy I need to play with my kids. To take them to a park and actually run aroud with them. I have enough energy to get all my work done around the house. The desire to clean? Not so much, but the energy? YES!
My husband really likes this better version of me too. I’m much more fun. I want to go out and do things together. The side effect of all this exercise and clean food has been a healthier leaner body, which we both enjoy! My self confidence has improved, and I’m so excited about the person I am becoming. I like myself again.
Energy. I didn’t have enough of it. I figured out how to get it. I love how I feel with it. I want everyone to feel as good as I do, and to have enough energy to live life to the fullest!
